Prof. Michael Smith, MS, PA-C is an experienced Physician Assistant educator with 10 years of experience in the PA school admissions process. From reviewing CASPA applications and supplemental essays to conducting live interviews under various models, Prof. Smith has seen and done it all.


In addition to his work in PA admissions, for over a decade he has been teaching in both the didactic and clinical phases, advising, and mentoring PA students throughout their training and into their careers. He began his career in the didactic area with the MCPHS PA Program in Boston, MA and later moved to the Boston University PA Program as Associate Director of Clinical Education until December 2024.

Deb Smith has been practicing as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for almost 30 years in Southern NH. She has also been closely involved in PA education as a Clinical Preceptor, Adjunct faculty, lecturer, ACLS instructor, and clinical skills trainer. Her experience in the PA Profession and her knowledge of how PA students can succeed is immeasurable.


Ms. Smith began her healthcare career as an EMT in 1989 and graduated from the Northeastern University PA Program in 1993. After working in inpatient medicine to start, she transitioned into Emergency Medicine and has been a ground breaker since. She was the first PA in the ED at Southern NH Medical Center and the first PA to be invited to serve on it’s Medical Executive Committee.
